Save Money on Skincare with Dr. Bronner’s

Did you know that on average, Brits spend £400 a year on skincare and buy three new products every month? With the cost of living going up, everyone is looking for easy ways to save money. Why not save on skincare without scrimping on quality?

Whilst using soap used to clean the bathroom to wash your face may sound crazy, Dr. Bronner’s products are made with certified fair-trade ingredients and organic hemp oil that are safe for a soft, smooth lather that won’t dry your skin. Dr. Bronner’s is a true soap, made entirely of saponified vegetable oils—no synthetic surfactants that may irritate the skin. Additionally, it is a strong cleanser containing no fillers or additives—meaning that it will effectively clean out your pores and do the important work of removing keratin plugs and makeup. The soap is particularly good at removing oily excess sebum, because of the way a true soap fully surrounds oil molecules so that they can then be rinsed off with water. You can feel confident incorporating Dr. Bronner’s Pure-Castile Soap into your skincare routine, just as you would any of its other 18-in-1 uses.

Founder of Dr. Bronner’s Emanuel Bronner’s granddaughter Lisa uses the Tea Tree Pure-Castile Liquid Soap on her face twice a day. She says, “I found that it removed make up easily and completely. The soap will even remove mascara. After a week, my blemishes were disappearing, and no new ones were forming.”

“At a month out, my skin was smooth, my colour was more even. With all that I had been through, I was somewhat astounded that the answer to clearer skin was so simple and had been right there in front of me.”

Used as an AM and/or PM cleanser, here are steps for the best technique to use Dr. Bronner’s Pure Castile Liquid Soap as your cleanser:

  • Wet skin with warm water.
  • Use three drops of Liquid Castile Soap and lather it up on hands. If you’re a Castile Bar Soap user, lather up the bar soap on wet hands or washcloth.
  • Rub it on your face in gentle, circular motions, taking extra time on heavy make up and on problematic areas.
  • Rinse with warm water
  • Blot face with a towel

Depending on your skin type, different Dr. Bronner’s scents might be better suited for you. Sensitive skin? Try the Baby Unscented soap. Have any redness or irritations? Then try Green Tea.

For acne prone skin, try the woodsy and medicinal Tea Tree Soap like Lisa Bronner. You can also use it straight as a topical spot treatment! See the results here.
